Position Purpose
The Procurement Category Manager’s responsibility will stretch across the full cycle of commercial activity while he/she will be responsible the successful management of a large & multi-million Rupee spend. Associate shall shape procurement strategy, provide policy advice and deliver hands on category and contract management to ensure value for money across the organization. The Procurement Category Manager will work closely with other senior stakeholders across the organization and will lead negotiations on high value and complex contracts. Associate will also provide input to the development of team members through direct line management as well as regular mentoring, coaching and on the job training.
Principal Responsibilities
· Oversee multiple spend categories and ensure the development, management and prioritization of procurement activities across these spend categories to effectively achieve the targets agreed with the corresponding Business Units.
· Develop and implement category strategy for Hashoo Group based on annual requirements/budgets and identification of opportunities for synergies across group’s businesses
· Create and deliver the overall Category Sourcing Strategy, solutions and implementation plans that meet the current and future business needs
· Ensure the integration of business needs into procurement category strategies considering market evolution and expected innovations
· Advise/consult with Group Businesses based on market and process insight and know-how (e.g. price development, material/service innovations, processes, etc.)
· Get involved at early stage of product development and provide feedback to internal stakeholders on supply market’s evolution and industry outlook
· Act as a facilitator for major projects that require the facilitation of cross functional teams and alignment and sponsorship from senior management
· Drive the implementation of the procurement best practices and ensure continuous compliance with process guidelines
· Manage risk in category and provide contingencies to ensure sustainable supply
· Deliver and integrate innovative materials and processes from external suppliers
· Perform total cost of ownership evaluations, conduct pricing audits and impact analysis in the pursuit of continuous cost improvements
· Negotiates and completes contracts with highly complex and critical suppliers.
· Responsible for day-to-day operations of the most complex, long-term suppliers.
· Partners with suppliers in forward-thinking strategic development and relationship building.
· Responsible for procurement savings and operational performance for categories assigned
· Support operational procurement (as needed) in delivery expediting and quality improvement on escalation with suppliers.
· Ensure the loss prevention is covered through HSE aspects in the procurement process.
· Continuously improve/optimize the sourcing procedures/processes and support in implementation & ensuring best procurement practices and procedures

Education/Qualification Requirements
· Master’s degree in Business Administration/Engineering preferably with someone working towards international certification in procurement & supply chain (e.g. CIPS, ISM, APICS)
