This position is the focal point for end-to-end development of consumer electronics products such as Education Tablet, Smart Phone, and Point of Sale Device etc., requiring a self-driven engineer with great nitiative. The position will have the added benefit of working with a young, dynamic and highly xperienced team on-site and offshore in the flexible environment of an emerging startup, including all aspects of software development from design to coding and testing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and build back-end cloud system and web services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Work with outside data sources and API's
- Unit-test code for robustness, including corner cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Experience building scalable web applications and RESTFUL web services
- Familiarity with SOA architecture/distributed services environment. Ability to debug distributed applications, systems and services
- Experience with C or Java and at least one scripting language (e.g. PHP, Python, Perl)
- Excellent proficiency with *NIX development environments
- Knowledge of Linux firewall, SSH, private and public key management is a plus
- Linux admin experience is a big plus
- Experience of working with Cloud service provider like AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with RDBMS databases, especially their strengths and weaknesses
- Experience with some or all of the following: Analytics, Big Data, Distributed Systems, Hadoop, MongoDB or any other NOSQL DB.
- Experience with webservers like Tomcat, JBoss
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Ganglia
- Built large-scale infrastructural data systems using open-source technologies
